You’ll be placed in a division of Fidelity that handles the clearing and custody of client assets, named Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC). Fidelity Clearing Canada, founded in Toronto in 2009, provides Canadian registered brokerage firms and portfolio managers with trade execution, clearing, custody and back-office support. This part of Fidelity works with our clients (Introducing Brokers and Portfolio Managers) who hold various types of assets. FCC is a fast-growing division of Fidelity, and the future is very bright as we look to be the #1 clearing and custody broker of choice in Canada

 

How you’ll make an impact:

As a student in FCC Fund Treasury & Trading, you will have the opportunity to engage in both Treasury and Trading responsibilities:

  • Compile data and run reports to support the trading and security lending teams
  • Create spreadsheets and presentations to organize and analyze data
  • Allocate and book orders accurately and timely to ensure client accounts reflect proper positions
  • Monitor and track performance of investment portfolios
  • Forecast and track daily/monthly interest earned at various financial institutions
  • Collaborate with the Treasury liquidity Manager to monitor and report daily liquidity needs
  • Maintain and oversee credit and concentration limits in compliance with threshold reporting
  • Assist in monthly calculation and disbursements of interest revenue sharing
  • Respond promptly to client requests regarding debit and credit interest
  • Provide comprehensive and accurate information to address client inquiries
  • Identify and implement process improvements to automate, increase efficiency and reduce errors
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and internal polices & procedures
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong analytical and communication skills as well as team skills and eagerness. 
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and knowledge of other financial analytical tools would be an asset.
  • Programming skills is an asset - VBA, python, SQL
  • You must be currently enrolled in a registered co-op program to be considered for this position
  • You must also be available on a full-time basis for the duration of the co-op term

 

You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement.

 

Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
