You’ll be placed in a division of Fidelity that handles the clearing and custody of client assets, named Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC). Fidelity Clearing Canada, founded in Toronto in 2009, provides Canadian registered brokerage firms and portfolio managers with trade execution, clearing, custody and back-office support. This part of Fidelity works with our clients (Introducing Brokers and Portfolio Managers) who hold various types of assets. FCC is a fast-growing division of Fidelity, and the future is very bright as we look to be the #1 clearing and custody broker of choice in Canada

How you’ll make an impact:

As a student in FCC IT, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support current business/ technology projects in many aspects, including business systems requirements, information gathering, analysis, and quality assurance and test automation
  • Work with the business users to gather requirements and assist with providing solutions
  • Work in an Agile Scrum framework, writing user stories
  • Identify potential enhancements, bug fixes, or functionality gaps
  • Review processes and procedures and recommend enhancements for increased efficiencies and productivity
  • Conduct research for new technology initiatives

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Working towards a university degree with a concentration in Computer Science or related technical program, ideally in your 3rd or 4th year of study.
  • A keen interest and knowledge of Web and Mobile development
  • A desire to work on usability and client experience standards
  • Strong understanding of Internet programming languages Angular and Java.
  • Knowledge of Application Servers
  • A creative aptitude focused on User Experience Design
  • You must be currently enrolled in a registered co-op program to be considered for this position
  • You must also be available on a full-time basis for the duration of the co-op term

You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement.

 

Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
