How you’ll make an impact:

As a Student, Corporate Sustainability, you’ll help us collect, analyze and report on sustainability data in support of Fidelity Canada’s internal and external sustainability reporting.  The role will also help prepare presentations and respond to information requests from leadership, clients and other stakeholders, and will also support peer and corporate leader benchmarking to inform strategic planning. 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Support collection of enterprise-wide sustainability data and supporting documentation for external and internal reporting needs.  
  • Support the calculation and management of Fidelity’s Greenhouse Gas inventory.
  • Through collaboration with key internal partners, maintain the accuracy and consistency of the sustainability data generated internally, or from partners, that is required to measure our progress and report to stakeholders. 
  • Monitor and assess competitor Corporate Sustainability programs on an ongoing basis and conduct peer and corporate leader benchmarking to inform strategic planning.  
  • Review and monitor pertinent sustainability standards, frameworks and regulations to assess impact on internal processes.  
  • Assist in organizing sustainability related employee engagement events.

 

What we’re looking for:

Experience
Ideally you have completed an internship in a role with a focus on sustainability or Environmental, Social & Governance

Education:
Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, business or finance with a specialization in sustainability preferred  

Designations, Licenses, or Accreditations
GHG Accounting accreditation or knowledge a plus

Knowledge and Skills

  • Like staying ahead of trends
  • Enjoy being part of a passionate team who care about making a positive impact on the environment and society
  • Are an Excel and PowerPoint superuser
  • Delight in recommending and monitoring course of action
  • Focus on the big picture –from observing trends to recommending a course of action to drafting the response to seeing the outcome
  • Know when to take initiative and when to ask for clarification or help
  • Are confident in your ability to learn new technologies and adapt to constantly changing demands
  • Can build rapport and credibility with internal and external stakeholders
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You must be currently enrolled in a registered co-op program to be considered for this position
  • You must also be available on a full-time basis for the duration of the co-op term
