What You Will Do:
Support the Land and Land Support requirements of multiyear and long-range work to deliver commitments of the asset plan and requirements of Regional Operations. Oversee land services including negotiation and acquisition of land agreements for the placement of Company assets and infrastructure.
Proactively influence regulatory bodies and landowners through positive relationships to ensure timely positive decisions.
Establish, standardize and implement efficiencies, continual improvement and process controls and governance across the Land team and ensure the development and support of projects follow these practices including appropriately managing project risks through timely reporting, collaboration with relevant stakeholders and effective project management practices.
Responsible for oversight and compliance of all negotiated agreement terms and conditions related to land requirements.
Ensure effective communication, engagement and leading change through permitting integration.
Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with Legal, Regulatory, Distribution Operations, Field Services and Growth, and Enterprise Safety & Reliability Lands & ROW and Environment teams.
Who You Are:
You have the following education & experience:
Degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Science, Environment and/or Business education from a post-secondary institution.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience (preferred land, permitting, planning, project management, construction, operations, engineering experience or a combination).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, project management and organizational skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills in interpersonal relationships.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Strong customer focus and results orientation in terms of providing timely response to daily matters while maintaining balance between competing priorities.
Demonstrated adaptability and desire for excellence.
Ability to effectively lead a geographically dispersed team
Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers.
Ability to interpret applicable legislation, regulations and processes for federally and provincially regulated pipelines.
Preferred experience:
Background in land, permitting, project management, planning and/or construction.
Understanding of applicable codes, standards, regulations, company policy and procedures.
Experience with company systems (Maximo, GIS, SAPPM).
Permanent Land Agent License or SR/WA Certification.
Experience with Leave to Construct projects.
Working Conditions:
Some travelling (5 - 10%) is required for this role. Valid ‘G’ License & responsible driving record will be needed.
