Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Environmental Supervisor, you will be part of the Environment Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
- Report writing, analytical data analysis experience;
- Environment Management System (EMS) implementation and management, including maintaining site aspects and impacts registry;
- Coordinating data collection for National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) and Green House Gas (GHG) emissions;
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, permit, monitoring, and reporting requirements;
- Perform voluntary and compliance monitoring for groundwater, surface water, air and soil;
- Coordinate with external laboratories for sample supplies and analysis;
- Maintain the environmental database using various software (Microsoft Access, Equis, Aquarius, Entropy);
- Management plan development and review;
- Perform inspections of work sites to identify environmental risks;
- Promote site awareness of environmental requirements and conditions for operations;
- Provide support to department heads on the inclusion of environmental consideration in work plans;
- Update and create standard operating procedures.
What You Need To Succeed
- Degree in a field related to Environmental Engineering, Science or other environmental discipline;
- Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience;
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian and Ontario legislation relevant to the mining industry;
- Ideally, have working knowledge of country foods programs and fisheries;
- Advanced MS Suite skills, experience with SAP and EQuis considered an asset;
- Knowledge of environmental management systems;
- Excellent verbal, written and listening skills;
- Knowledge of the Ontario health, safety and environment acts and any legislation directly related to the mining industry;
- Exceptional ability to work within a diverse team.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
