Lawyer - La Ronge
We are looking for Staff Lawyer (hybrid, full time, permanent) with a minimum of three (3) plus years of criminal and family law experience to join our team at the Northern office.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Legal Director, some of the key responsibilities of the Lawyer are:
Conduct of assigned files to professional standards and in accordance with the policies and procedures of Legal Aid Saskatchewan & the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
Conduct preliminary inquiries, pre-trials, case conferences, trials, reviews & appeals.
Negotiate competent resolutions of files to achieve fair, early and lasting outcomes for clients.
Represent clients at bail hearings, guilty pleas and remands both in-person and remotely.
Work independently on cases as assigned by the Legal Director.
Complete and accurate time entry and record keeping.
Position Requirements
Experience in criminal law.
Experience in family law.
Law degree from a recognized law school.
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
Valid Driver’s License – Class 5.
Technologically savvy with a keen enthusiasm for learning new systems including, computer literacy in MS Office, web-based legal research tools, and other web-based resources.
Commitment to social justice and an understanding of the needs and challenges faced by low-income and marginalized communities.
Demonstrated time management and ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
Successful candidate will be required to provide an acceptable criminal record check.
