THE ROLE
Since its inception, Hylands Golf Club has matured into a top-quality golf facility that offers a full range of services and amenities to its 1200 members and their guests. A true jewel among Canadian Forces golf facilities, Hylands continues to host numerous regional, national and international events. As part of CFMWS, our mandate is to provide affordable golf to our local military personnel and their families.
Under the supervision of the Lead Cook, the Cook prepares and cooks meals in accordance with menus, established and standardized recipes, and production control charts. In addition, the Cook ensures quality products and service are being provided while maintaining portion sizes and presentation standards.
This is a role where everyone works as one team to provide the best customer experience for our members and contributes to creating a positive workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma AND several years experience in the food service sector, or in a related hospitality field.
Experience
In commercial food service
In providing customer service
Knowledge
Of food preparation
Of food safety practices
Of health and safety practices
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

English Essential or French Essential / Bilingual an asset

This unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the UFCW local 175 bargaining unit at CFSG Ottawa-Gatineau.
Wage will be based on experience relevant to the position.
START DATE
Expected Start: April 24th, 2023
Depending on weather and operational requirements, start date may be advanced.
