About the Opportunity
Servus is growing! We are opening our newest branch on the lands of the Tsuut'ina Nation, as part of an ambitious economic development with Taza.
To support this growth, we are looking for a full-time Financial Advisor to join this exciting, new team in Buffalo Run, Alberta. Located about 20 minutes southwest of downtown Calgary, this is a unique opportunity for a purpose-driven individual to be a Servus ambassador and serve a vibrant First Nation community!
Reporting to the Branch Manager, your primary objective is to develop long-term relationships with community members, by building trust and delivering customized financial solutions that meet their needs.
More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Identifying opportunities to match members with the right products and solutions that help shape their financial fitness
Participating and assisting in business development plans through engaging community outreach and other marketing campaigns
Demonstrating excellent communication skills and engaging members in conversations to determine their immediate needs
Meeting and exceeding sales targets and referral goals
Developing ongoing knowledge of our current investment/retail banking services and products (e.g., mutual funds, underwriting, credits, loans, investment needs, etc.)
Promoting referrals to our Wealth Management, Business Banking teams, and our 3rd party providers
Building a comprehensive knowledge of the local market, competitive offers, and economic trends
Adhering to all audits, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to mitigate risks of fraud or loss
Providing outstanding member experience by adhering to Servus' best practices
Contributing to Servus' unparalleled culture of teamwork, positivity, and collaboration
Maintaining Servus' positive image in the community
About You
To qualify, you will need at least 1–2 years of retail banking or related financial industry experience, preferably in sales, business development, or customer service. Secondary education is also required in this role. Experience in mortgage lending is highly preferred.
To serve our community in the most effective way possible, we highly encourage qualified self-identifying Indigenous candidates. Non-Indigenous applicants with background or experience working in an Indigenous community will also be highly preferred.
Although not required, the following education/certifications are valuable assets:
Post-secondary education in Finance (or related studies)
Investment Funds in Canada Course & License (IFIC)
Personal Financial Service Advice (PFSA)
Financial Planning I (FP1)
