This position is located at our sales and service dealership in Kamloops, BC and will work closely with the business leaders for all of our interior BC locations.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Regional Accounting Manager, you will serve as advisor and strategic business partner to the Regional General Manager and key business leaders, reporting on KPI's and trend analysis, and budget variance. You will also be responsible for the administrative functions in our accounting department, including supervision of admin staff, ensuring that all dealership procedures are followed, and all office systems are functioning. You will also perform various types of financial analysis and account reconciliations relating to the region.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform financial analysis on reporting including KPI analysis, trend analysis, comparisons to budgets and prior year
Meet with the General Managers and Department Managers on a regular basis to review the financial statements
Assist with the preparation of budgets, expense allocation, and other annual benchmarks
Serve as advisor to and strategic partner with the General Managers, assisting in most decisions related to forecasts and new initiatives to exploit potential profit improvement opportunities
Perform regular reconciliations for balance sheet items related to the region
Oversee the deal file process
Liaise between Head Office accounting staff and Regional Managers
Provide monthly reports and status updates to Head Office accounting staff and Controller
Review trade accounts receivable to ensure customer disputes are handled in a timely fashion
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting is required
CPA designation is preferred
5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Supervisory experience is required
Advanced accounting knowledge including ability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial reports
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience with data analytics tools (eg. power BI) preferred
Great interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise a high level of judgement and discretion
Excellent time management with the demonstrated ability to effectively manage leadership responsibilities and be accountable
