*The Organization: *

A.E.W. LP was formed in 2017 by Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council member communities to carry out “on the ground” work related to archaeology, the environment and wildlife protection. This work has been made necessary by activities of others within the Nlaka’pamux homeland including transportation, mining, forestry, oil and gas, and utilities projects. The Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council is not opposed to development within our homeland, but developments and activities must be consistent with Nlaka’pamux title and rights.

*The Role: *

A.E.W. Limited Partnership (A.E.W. LP) is seeking a permanent full-time Health & Safety Coordinator based out of beautiful Kamloops, BC. The Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the coordination and implementation of A.E.W. LP’s Health and Safety Program in the office and field and will assist the OH&S Manager in providing guidance and support regarding Health and Safety to the other NNTC business entities.

Reporting to the OH&S Manager, the Health & Safety Coordinator will:

* Assist and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of A.E.W. LP’s Health and Safety Program in the field.
* Work with and train staff against the Health and Safety Program of A.E.W. LP.
* Work with crews to conduct and actively participate in weekly Toolbox Talks, daily Field Level Hazard Assessment reviews when on site, and monthly Safety Meetings.
* Actively participate with the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
* Perform inspections of active worksites.
* Respond to incidents and work alongside the OH&S Manager to ensure investigations are completed promptly with corrective actions in place.
* Actively promote the chosen safety software platform.
* Focus on assisting in the development implementation and maintenance of a COR ready Health and Safety Program for other business entities.
* Work with other business entities to train their staff against the safety management systems that are in place to reduce the overall risk level for the organization and its field activities.
* Assist the OH&S Manager in the development of a business strategy to target the construction, mining, forestry, transportation, and environmental sectors within the field of health and safety for the purpose of providing “Health, Safety and Environmental” consulting safety services.
* Provide consulting services which can include HSE program development and assistance with implementation, providing GAP Analysis for companies, preparing companies for COR Recognition and or Forest Safe Certification, assisting companies who are experiencing rapid growth with consultation on organizational structure as it relates to Health and Safety, performing risk assessments, worksite inspections, incident response and investigation, Joint Health and Safety Committee Training, Fall – Protection Training, and WHMIS 2015 Training.
* Support the OH&S Manager in taking on new business and contracts as they come in, ensuring to fulfill any commitments to highest level of professionalism.
* This person will assist when required and needed in the Fleet & Asset Coordination sides of the businesses as it relates to Health, Safety, and loss prevention

*Requirements: *

* Professional safety designation such as CSO or NCSO.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in Health and Safety.
* Able to interpret and apply WorkSafe BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation including the Mines Act and Code.
* Occupational First Aid Level 2 or 3.
* Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
* Posses valid Canadian Drivers Licence with clean Drivers Abstract.
* Ability to pass a pre-employment and pre-project drug and alcohol test.
