Why is this role important?
The Allocation Analyst works in partnership with the Category Management, Supply Chain and Merchandise Operations teams to achieve optimal store inventory levels while maximizing profitable sales and bottom line results. The Allocation Analyst applies analytical skills to distribute product to multiple store formats and banners across Canada.
Top Priorities/Accountabilities:
Determine optimal store allocation and replenishment based on the Category strategy, merchandising plan, store size and sales performance.
Ensure allocations and replenishment is completed by the required timelines for DC processing to ensure product arrives to pre-defined store set-up dates.
Coordinate with Supply Chain and the Apparel DC’s on problem solving and non-compliance shipments, inventory issues and new or renovated store shipments.
Provide inventory analytics to the Category Management team with information to maximize sales and profit.
Share responsibility with Category Management and Supply Chain for Weeks of Supply, Age of Stock, and Stock to Sales (category and store) analysis and provide recommendations as required.
Analyze and report all in-season sell-through results. Evaluate performance of promotions and key programs to extract learning’s. Complete ad-hoc analyses or reports as required in a timely manner as it relates to allocations, sell-through, and inventory.
Execute the action plan criteria for pushing discontinued articles and excess inventory from DC’s to stores.
Compile store grading analysis based on required timelines and liaise with Category Management and Merchandise Operations Teams to review proposed store clusters/grades.
Collaborate with Merchandise Operations, Store Development and Store Specialists, to ensure timely product allocations to new and/or renovated stores or any special store request or concerns.
Effectively communicate expected store delivery flow to the Merchandise Operations Team and troubleshoot any issues.
Provide feedback and recommendations for various processes and applications to improve efficiencies in everyday tasks and assigned projects.
Role Requirements:
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
Superior computer skills (MS Office, advanced level of Excel)
Superior analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to contribute to category plans in line with corporate strategies
Strong knowledge of forecasting and inventory management principles
Experience with JDA and SAP applications are considered an asset, but not required
