Chemetics Inc. (Worley Group) is a diversified technology company that provides design and engineering solutions to the chloralkaline, sodium chlorate, chlorine dioxide, and sulphuric acid industries worldwide. It is a Company with a 60-year history in Vancouver with diverse cultures, talents, and highly skilled professionals. Chemetics operates a specialized alloy fabrication shop in Pickering, ON.
We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Materials / Corrosion Engineer. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based at our fabrication facility in Pickering, ON Canada.
The Jr. Materials Engineer reports to the Technical Service Manager who is also a Materials Engineer. The Engineer is responsible for completing materials selection in design, fabrication/construction, customer service, commissioning, and turnaround support related projects for Chemetics designed process equipment and facilities. Working with proprietary ANOTROL® electrochemical corrosion protection systems, and performing varied chemical plant related tasks, providing workshop technical advice, and issuing part and assembly quotations are also part of the duties.
With time candidate is expected to grow into a larger engineering and/or other type of multi-discipline work role.
Responsibilities:
- Project execution work related to Chemetics’ equipment designs, drawings, and technical documents, generally involving materials of construction, fabrication, QA/QC, and solutions to issues.
- Performing customer outage inspections, troubleshooting and related service tasks.
- Commissioning of equipment ready for first operation.
- Training and advising customer’s operating and maintenance personnel.
- Preparing inspection/service reports.
- Interact with customers, prepare quotations, and sell proprietary equipment and parts.
- Assist in preparing operating manuals.
- Involvement in R+D activities, product development and improvement studies.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
- The position requires some understanding and knowledge of corrosion, welding, chemical process equipment, computer aided design and electrical control systems.
- Outgoing personality, mechanical aptitude, good communication skills and strong work ethic are assets.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- University Engineering Degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering disciplines
