Chemetics Inc. Purpose:

Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for an entry-level Graduate Process Engineer. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters.  The Graduate Process Engineer is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC. Works with lead engineers on the process design for projects and proposals in accordance with design standards or “understood” acceptable practices.   Also expected to provide advanced technical support to clients through the completion of plant audits, leadership or management of plant commissioning, feasibility studies, or R&D projects.  Work is performed under guidance of the Chief Process Engineer and/or designate. May also provide guidance, supervision and mentoring of less experienced engineers on projects and proposals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity. Participate in the design of a process plant, including establishing process design basis, development of process options, and optimization of selected design.
  • Calculate and organize information for the process design including instrumentation and control considerations.
  • Project and Proposal Process Design including development of PFD’s, PID’s and Process data sheets.
  • Direct the preparation of required documentation for assigned projects.
  • Ensure successful completion of the assigned project deliverables within the budgeted time and costs.
  • Plant Commissioning and Technical service.
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members and with the customer.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements: 

  • Computer literate and will have experience using simulation software (e.g. ASPEN Plus preferred). 
  • Available to travel internationally for project review meetings and commissioning / technical service of our projects required.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines which require strong organization and time management skills.
  • Good communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills required.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Recognized bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering required.
  • Member (or eligible to be a member) of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) required.

For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is CAD $78,000 to $82,000. Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role
