The Graduate Marine Structural Engineer is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC. Canada.


Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be assigned small projects from planning to implementation and typical tasks include:

·         Develop work plans and budgets

·         Liaise with clients and determine client requirements

·         Provide preliminary / conceptual design through to detailed design for marine infrastructures

·         Conduct field work (inspection and review during construction)

·         Prepare project deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports

·         Support senior staff on larger projects including:

  • Detailed analysis and design of marine structures including docks, marinas, ports, ferry terminals, piers, steel sheet pile structures, steel and timber pile structures, floating structures and waterfront facilities.
  • Inter-discipline coordination
  • Assist with project reporting



  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering
  • Structural design experience using steel, concrete, and timber
  • Experience with seismic design and soil-structures interaction
  • Interest in working on large scale industrial and maritime projects
  • Understanding of tides, wave and wind forces is preferred
  • Experience with structural analysis software and Microsoft Office is preferred
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $49,016 to $82,159

Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
