Position Title:

Analytical Technologist

Purpose:

We are seeking an Analytical Technologist to support the development and piloting of novel chemical processes, technology transfer through to commercialization, and small lots manufacturing at DuPont’s Kingston Research Facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team focused on analysis of sample streams from R&D or manufacturing programs
  • Lead and participate in the development and routine operation of advanced analytical methods for the project(s) assigned
  • Manage and maintain various analytical equipment to deliver quality results to the customer
  • Interface regularly with project teams to share and discuss analytical results, understand changing needs of project, communicate timing of workflow through analytical
  • Participate and/or lead various initiatives for the improvement of the analytical facilities and site
  • Document results and methods in various formats and present results
  • Train and/or mentor other team members in specific analytical methods for a given project
  • Work in a business-driven environment that is continuously improving and evolving to meet the changing needs of our customers

What you will bring:

The successful candidate will have a solid educational background and experience working in Analytical Chemistry. The individual will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to be an effective team member and able to provide and receive coaching and guidance to and from other personnel. As the project work evolves, flexibility will be required in terms of willingness to take on different work and in work schedules (e.g., some periods of shiftwork may be required). This position is fully on site.

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Proficiency with statistical analysis tools for monitoring reproducibility, reliability, and measurement system error analysis
  • Efficient with database management, vendor management, and instrument maintenance including ability to use appropriate tools to troubleshoot processes
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems
  • Post-graduate relevant industrial laboratory experience in an analytical laboratory

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Required:

  • A Degree, or Diploma in Sciences; with a strong focus on Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
