The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Student to join our Talent Acquisition Team located in Thompson, Manitoba. 

This is a student position requiring on-site presence, working a Monday – Friday schedule. This is a 4 – 12 months month-fixed term co-op position starting in January 2025.

As a Talent Acquisition Student working in our Manitoba Operations, you will have the opportunity to further your Human Resources / Business related skills by providing day-to-day support for various projects and initiatives within the Talent Acquisition Team. You will have a holistic and enriching experience like no other, with opportunities to learn and participate in talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, succession planning, leadership development, and more.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Manage assigned recruitment files from start to completion.
  • Write job postings, post jobs, screen candidate resumes, conduct pre-screen interviews, conduct interviews, candidate selection, presenting offers, complete reference checks, etc.
  • Coordinate candidate travel arrangements for on site visits and relocation purposes.
  • Assist recruitment team in planning recruitment initiatives and local career events.
  • Manage recruitment projects in a manner that meets quality, time, and resource requirements.
  • Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in handling critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.
  • Build relationships with people in our business.
  • Assist recruitment team in determining sourcing and recruitment strategies.

 

About You

Education:

  • Currently enrolled as a student in a Post-Secondary Education. Concentration in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration or Commerce related fields are preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Recruitment experience is desirable but not required.
  • Experience working in an office environment is preferred.

 

Skills:

  • Strong verbal, written and analytical communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel.
  • Proven time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
