Reporting to the Tailings, Water and Environmental Supervisor, you will be part of the Tailings and Water Management Team. Your tasks include heavy equipment operation, labour, and monitoring tasks associated with the operation of the tailings and water management infrastructure.  Day to day activities include operational monitoring/inspections, heavy equipment operation, haulage, material transport and civil construction. Other tasks may be assigned from time to time depending on the business needs.  You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. 

• Work in team/crew setting reporting to a daily supervisor. Work with principles of teamwork, and good communication displaying these daily. Capable of working independently at times; 

• Perform job duties as assigned, inline with SOP’s and health/safety standards at site; 

• Operate machinery including haul truck, excavator, dozer, generator, pumps, compressors, forklift, loader, grader, excavator, and hand tools; 

• Complete tailings and water management operational tasks including daily inspections, pipe work set-up/relocation, dewatering activities, welding, and tailings spigotting ; 

• Handle and transport Dangerous Goods materials (chemicals for plant) at times; 

• Maintain equipment and work area in good working conditions (implement 5S including: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, & Sustain); 

• Be prepared to assist in all roles that are required and responding appropriately to these needs, including seasonal activity, shovelling snow, spreading sand, and enabling safe access to work areas for others; 

• Work in the operators’ cab of equipment as required. Work outdoors in cold and warm seasonal conditions or in other areas of the mine site as required;  

• Lift and carry loads up to a maximum of 22kgs (50lbs); 

• Constantly sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crawl and/or climb stairs; 

• Frequently push, pull, lift, lower, hold, and/or restrain an object; 

• Access and egress vehicles that require arm extension and flexion to achieve access/egress; 

• Care and caution accessing and egressing equipment that will invariably be on uneven ground;  

• Capacity to support personal body weight trough upper torso as above; 

• Core strength to support lower back due to role type operating machinery for extended period; 

• Support other departments and divisions from time to time. Perform other duties as assigned. 

• Capable and previous experience (or licencing) to operate heavy equipment; 

• Capable of following job directions and completing work in safe manner;  

• Willing to learn and complete job tasks in various environmental conditions;  

• Previous experience in heavy civil construction, process plant operations, or mining considered an asset; 

• Good communication skills (written and oral) is essential. Working language is English; 

• Valid and clean G class License (Minimum).
