We are seeking a motivated Plumber Apprentice to join our site services team. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an industrial or mining environment while working alongside experienced plumbers. The apprentice will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems to support safe and efficient site operations.

Key Responsibilities

Area 1:

Plumbing installation and maintenance

  • Assist in installing and repairing water supply, drainage, and sewage systems.
  • Learn how to measure, cut, and assemble pipes using various materials, such as copper, PVC, and steel. 
  • Support the maintenance of underground and above-ground piping systems.

Area 2:

 Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Perform inspections of plumbing systems to identify leaks, corrosion, or blockages.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing plumbing components, including valves, pumps, and fixtures
  • Help maintain site water treatment and distribution systems to ensure proper functionality.

Area 3:

Safety and compliance.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE use, and proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and equipment.

Area 4:

Learning and development.

  • Participate in structured on-the-job training and technical coursework required for apprenticeship completion.
  • Actively participate in mentorship and training opportunities provided by senior Plumbers.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and new technologies.

 

Qualifications
 

Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, FORMAL EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS

  • Enrolled in or eligible for a Plumber Apprenticeship Program. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or college courses in Plumbing are an asset.

WORK EXPERIENCE - NATURE & LENGTH

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment (lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces).
  • Basic understanding of plumbing tools and materials.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
