This 6-month internship, starting in May 2025 is your opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and take the next step in your Health and Safety career.

Join our dynamic team and gain hands-on experience in developing key elements of our health and safety management system. This unique position will challenge your creative side, while
applying the fundamental principles of health and safety.

As a Health and Safety Intern, you will work closely with the Health and Safety Director, and collaborate with Health and Safety leaders at three of IAMGOLD’s operating mines, to help further our 2025 strategic initiatives. Specifically, you will:

  • Support the development of our Critical Risk Management Introduction Video.
    • Drawing upon the work completed at the sites in 2024 and start of 2025, you will help design and develop the company wide introduction video to our 10 Critical Risks.
  • Support the development of IAMGOLD Leadership Development Guidance document.
    • The development of a leadership guidance book is a key initiative of the Health and Safety department, and your contribution will be critical to the success of the overall document. Specifically, your role will be to help structure the overall guidance document, leading to a final product.
  • Support the development of an Incident Investigation Guide.
    • Quality and consistent investigations are cornerstone elements of our continual improvement and learning journey. Your role will be to support the collation of numerous IAMGOLD investigation processes into one central guidance book. This guide will then be distributed to our sites for implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Currently working towards a post-secondary education in Health and Safety.
  • Strong computer skills; specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Understanding of Risk Management and Investigation methodologies.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
