Geotechnical & Water Engineering Co-op Placement - Student -
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical and Water Engineering Co-op Student to join our team for an 8-month work term. This opportunity will provide hands-on experience in a dynamic mining environment, allowing the student to apply their academic knowledge to real-world geotechnical and water management challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with our mining engineering team to support site geotechnical stability, tailings and water management and environmental compliance initiatives.
This role will be based at our Côté Gold mine site (Gogama, Ontario) on a 14 on, 14 off rotational schedule.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties:
- Assist in geotechnical monitoring programs, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Support water management initiatives, including hydrology and hydrogeology assessments.
- Conduct field inspections and assist in the installation and maintenance of geotechnical instrumentation.
- Assist in the development of slope stability and tailings management assessments.
- Utilize engineering software for data analysis, mapping, stability analysis and reporting.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to geotechnical and water engineering performance.
- Participate in environmental compliance and risk mitigation activities.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation as required.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements
Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents
- Currently enrolled in a Geotechnical, Earth Sciences or Water Resources Engineering, or related post-secondary degree program.
- Must be registered in a recognized co-op or internship program.
