Electrical Engineering Coop (Spring 2025)
Position Overview
Located in Timmins, Ontario, Kidd Operations consists of Mine and Concentrator sites focused on developing and sustaining economic mining plans for its ore body. The mine extends to a depth of 3.01 km (9,889 ft), making Kidd Operations the world’s deepest base-metal mine.
Kidd Operations is now accepting resumes from Electrical Engineering students for co-op placements (12-months) beginning in the Spring of 2025.
Based at our mine site, the chosen candidates will report to the Maintenance Engineering Department and will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Contributing to the implementation of a Ventilation on Demand Automation Project, encompassing both mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Investigating and resolving Engineering Assistance Requests (EARs) in compliance with industry standards
- Supporting the maintenance and organization of the document management database
- Collaborating with cross-functional project teams to ensure effective communication and outcomes
- Assisting with general office tasks and other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications
- Be currently enrolled in an Engineering program at a recognized Canadian university
- Demonstrate the ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Possess proficiency in AutoCAD
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Hold legal authorization to work in Canada
- Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Automation or relevant experience in Electrical Engineering applications
