Position Description

As the Safety Business Development Manager for BC, you must possess passion, initiative, and drive, combined with natural leadership and coaching skills. Your communication skills need to be exemplary. Your passion for product, application and business knowledge will help you lead the region as the safety subject matter expert for the Milwaukee brand.

You will be the safety resource who will be called upon for the operational execution of our Safety Strategy in your region. You will coordinate prepare, present, and support the execution of conversion programs that foster long term equity by exceeding the health and safety dashboards of our key end users. You will assist the sales team in driving safety conversions, trial and brand awareness which directly impacts our market share. You will work closely with JSS team, Territory Managers and key distributor partners safety teams in order to build plans that convert Users through branch work and in-field joint sales calls with distributor staff. Excellent communication skills are paramount given your interaction with the multiple functions involved in the selling and conversion process.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be a product and application expert for Milwaukee’s breadth of line in Safety products

  • Work directly with reps in the field to provide safety expertise & training

  • Provide insight into new product introductions and development.

  • Build relationships and lead the conversation with end user Health & Safety Directors & Joint Health & Safety Committees

  • Integrated resource to help reps develop safety sales plans within their territory to leverage their time with key distribution and users

  • Exceed all conversion and sales targets

  • Ensure programs are being used in a financially responsible manner in the field

  • Help track and/or communicate plans, conversions, and successes

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Safety / PPE sales safety experience an asset(not required)

  • Minimum 3 year of distribution and/or end/user industrial sales experience

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience

  • 3+ years sales and sales leadership experience or equivalent

  • Must be proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications

  • Must possess effective business communication skills, broad business perspective and market savvy

  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

  • Up to 50% travel
