Volunteer- Fighting Food Insecurity - Save-The-Bread
Save-the-Bread® is a community-driven social enterprise working on one foremost issue—food insecurity.
We are engaging, rewarding, and social. Our goals are to Stop food waste; Stop hunger; Support mental health; Stop the waste of all the energy and water it takes to grow, harvest, transport, package, and cook food; and Save the planet from producing greenhouse gases.
We are preventing food waste by collecting unsold baked goods from local bakeries to feed needy/homeless people in Toronto and Scarborough Area.
Responsibilities:
- To learn about the work of Save-The-Bread® and your volunteering role, and the induction or training you need to meet the responsibilities of this role.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies, if required.
- Help us identify new opportunities for fundraising.
- Develop relationships with potential donors and maintain existing relationships with current donors.
- Must have a clear background/police check.
- Must be hygienic, and have a good sense of cleanliness.
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive in their personal vehicle.
