Special Olympics Toronto Community Council Member - Special Olympics Ontario
The Special Olympics Toronto Community Council are looking for dedicated and passionate volunteers to help support individuals with intellectual disabiities through the power of sport!
The Toronto Community Council is a group of volunteers that work behind the scenes to ensure that the athletes and their programs are active and properly supported. Toronto is one of the largest communities within Special Olympics Ontario and required dedicated volunteers to help oversee the community.Some activities the Council engage in include: intaking new athletes and volunteers, creating new programs, fundraising, competition planning, health and wellness initiatives, and much more.
The Council meets once a month - either virtually or in-person to discuss what is going on in the community. In-person events include, competitions, fundraisers, sport program visits, etc. Council positions can vary and no experience is required, but is always a plus! Positions include:
- Community Coordiator (Chair)
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Fundraisers
- Sport Technical
- Athlete Coordinator
- Registrar
- Volunteer Coordinator
- Public Relations
