Employment Programme Facilitator - The Salvation Army - Dreaming in Colour

The "Dreaming in Colour" Programme is an employment essentials initiative designed to assist clients in improving their employability. Various workshops, covering aspects such as self-understanding, life skills, and employment preparation, will be provided to clients during the training phase.

The role of the Voluntary Program Facilitator is to assist in preparing, facilitating, and teaching workshops. Below are some suggested topics for training facilitation:

(A) Self-Understanding:

  • Identifying core values
  • Personality (e.g. True Colour, MBTI etc.)
  • Self-esteem
  • SMART goal setting
  • Career planning

(B) Life Skills Training:

  • Time management
  • Stress management (e.g. using the frameworks of CBT, ACT, or other psychological frameworks)
  • Happiness
  • Mental wellness (e.g. mindfulness etc.)
  • Nutrition and healthy lifestyles
  • Critical thinking
  • Internet safety
  • Computer skills
  • Financial literacy

(C) Employment Preparation:

  • Job searching & labour market trends
  • Mock interviews
  • Professional conduct in the workplace
  • Employer expectations
  • Conflict resolution in the workplace

Please select the topics you are comfortable teaching from the list above or suggest any other related topics.

We can provide teaching materials for your presentations. Some of these materials may need updating, and we would appreciate your assistance in researching and developing the teaching plan and handouts.
