About the Pet Cancer Fund
The Pet Cancer Fund is a Vancouver-based organization whose vision is to increase the life expectancy and improve the quality of life of pets diagnosed with cancer. Estimates suggest that 12M dogs and cats are developing cancer every year, roughly 6x the number of humans getting cancer yearly within North America.
We need to do more for our furry friends, and we're building a large team of distributed, animal-loving passionate volunteers to help them and their families. Our team requires experienced business analyst professionals to help us define the requirements for our projects. That's where and how you can help us.
About the position:
We are looking for a Business Analyst who will be the vital link between our information technology team and our business objectives. As our Business Analyst, you will work closely with the technology team, consultants, and business development. With a technology background in health care and electronic health records, you will help us create a critical information resource that will revolutionize cancer care for our cats and dogs.
Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with stakeholder to develop business requirements and user stories and use cases

Prepare business requirements documents and work with the system analyst to ensure functional and system specifications are in line with business requirements

Ensure that test criteria are clear and provide input to the Test Plans and Deployment Plan

Lead or support testing to drive a zero project defect launch

Lead or support training of stakeholder groups

Participate and provide functional input into project activities/plans

Partner with the PM to manage risk, schedule, quality, and change throughout the project lifecycle

Always be on the lookout for ways to improve processes and deliver better value to our customers
About You
You have 3-5 years of experience in similar roles and have the highest standards taking great pride in your work. Further, you are incredibly detail-oriented and proud of being a perfectionist when it comes to your projects. You have:

Experience in Business / Systems Analysis or Quality Assurance

A degree in Computer Science with a business focus, or in Business with a focus on computer science, or equivalent

A high tolerance for ambiguity and a willingness to build BA capacity at PCF 'from the ground up.'

Proven experience in eliciting and documenting requirements

Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions

Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills

Advanced knowledge in process mapping and business impact assessments

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing skills
Professional certification in Business Analysis preferred but is not mandatory
