Area Coordinator - Operation Christmas Child

Ministry Description Volunteer Area Coordinator
Reports to OCC Regional Point of Contact

Summary: Develop and lead an Area Team to mobilize and equip individuals, Churches and groups in designated areas to become actively involved in sharing the hope of Jesus Christ through Operation Christmas Child (OCC).

Primary Responsibilities • Recruit and select an interdenominational Area Leadership Team of qualified volunteers with the purpose of generating shoebox gifts • Support Ministry Coordinators in the recruitment and selection of their team members • Lead the Area Team in line with High Impact principles and biblical foundations • Hold monthly meetings with the Area Team’s Ministry Coordinators • Develop a Ministry Plan and set goals in conjunction with Ministry Coordinators and OCC Regional Point of Contact • Provide monthly updates and reports to OCC Regional Point of Contact

Qualifications: Spiritually mature Christian who has proven leadership skills, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Must be connected to and knowledgeable of designated geographic area and be committed to the ministry goals of SP/OCC. Must be willing to undergo a background check. Regular access to an individual email account and MyOCC is required.

Training Expectations: • Participate in initial Leadership Development Training online and with OCC Regional Point of Contact • Participate in Annual and Ministry Specific Training • Attend AC planning meeting, regional events, and conference calls • Attend annual Connect Conference (strongly encouraged)

Volunteer Time Commitment: • Two years, may hold ministry position for multiple terms. Term may be ended at any time by volunteer or OCC Regional Point of Contact • Time commitment of up to 5 hours per week, likely increasing to more than 10 hours per week during peak months
