As Patriot Forge Co. forging and machining capabilities continue to expand with the installation of new state-of-the-art equipment we are currently looking for experienced CNC Machinists to join us in the custom manufacturing of steel products.

As an experienced CNC Machinist, you will set up and run various CNC machinery to machine forgings to required specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC equipment using CNC controls
• Calibrate tools and tool offsets
• Program CNC machines at the control for basic workpieces
• Machine product to specified requirements as defined within production shop orders, drawings and sketches or as directed by the management of Patriot Forge
• Interpret blueprints
• Demonstrate Metrology knowledge and experience as necessary
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts for material handling of large product
• Maintain equipment in safe and productive condition, including but not limited to, regular routine lubrication, cleaning, maintaining coolant levels
• Practice excellent general housekeeping, including but not limited to, his/her work area, chip removal, floor areas, benches, and storage areas to ensure a safe work environment
• Shovel chips generated by machinery, grind parts and assist and support fellow employees in their duties when/as required
• Maintain measuring instruments in proper working condition by regular cleaning and storing instruments in a safe location both during use and after completion of use
• Work various shifts as required

In addition to learning these trade skills, duties will include

• Shoveling scale
• Repairing forging tools with a grinder
• Performing additional responsibilities as required and appointment by management
• Working various shifts as required

Experience:

• A Certificate of Qualification is an asset
• High school diploma required
• Previous experience with the setup and operation of CNC equipment is required
• Manual “G” code programming at machine-tool
• A good understanding of machining principles is essential
• Good knowledge of cutting tools as well as speeds and feeds an asset
• Simple trigonometry calculations required
• Good command of the English language both written and verbal
• Familiarity with material handling equipment (overhead cranes and forklifts) and the safe handling of large objects
• Demonstrated communication, problem solving, interpersonal and analytical skills
