Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Innovation Specialist/Scientist to join our NeuroCatch Inc. division. The Innovation Specialist will work with a multidisciplinary group of stakeholders and functional teams to advance the company’s research and development roadmap and intellectual property portfolio. They will be responsible for all strategic activities regarding research and development and related IP including managing the patent and scientific publication portfolio, grants and non-dilutive funding, R&D partnerships, and competitive market positioning.
Our perfect candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of innovation and technology transfer processes with a passion for neurotechnology, exploration, and out-of-the-box thinking.
Responsibilities
Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary group of scientific, clinical, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Lead the translation of R&D findings into intellectual property and manage the company’s patent portfolio across global markets.
Lead team towards the acquisition of new non-dilutive funding and provide oversight of existing partnerships for research and funding.
Proactively build and maintain productive relationships and collaborations with academic, industry, and government partners.
Support analysis of markets, customers, and other business and product development factors that influence product changes and positioning.
Support engineering and research teams to ensure optimized alignment with the product roadmap.
Assist in the formulation, development, and optimization of research and scientific processes.
Work within the research team to translate ideas into innovative prototypes and algorithms.
Contribute across the life cycle of research studies and clinical trials, including study design, initiation, data collection, data analysis, and results dissemination.
Stay up to date on developments within relevant fields (i.e. neuroscience, engineering, & data science) through methods such as reading academic journals, ongoing education programs, and attending conferences.
Maintain an active presence in the neurotechnology community through networking, professional associations, committee work, thought leadership, peer-reviewed articles, and media opportunities.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or a related field
5+ years of practical translational research experience
Demonstrated scientific and technical track record including publications, presentations, and other contributions.
Experience with the development, preparation, and administration of research grants and other non-dilutive funding
Familiarity with patent law and processes
