Move in LSN Caregiver
Life Sharing Contractor Required
Requirements:
We are looking for female contractors who are interested in the life sharing experience and who have demonstrated skills working with individuals who have developmental disabilities and knowledge of medical needs. They should have the ability (with time and capacity) to support the person with their day-to-day activities.
Living Environment:
We are looking for someone who is willing to move into a young person’s home. This arrangement provides you with a private bedroom in addition to compensation.
Please send your resume and a cover letter describing:
· Reasons why you are interested in life sharing
· General weekly schedule for work/school
· Hobbies/Interests
· Experience working with people with disabilities
Life Sharing will attempt to curate an experience that is meaningful for both the contractor and the person who will be sharing their home. This is about creating meaningful relationships that benefit all parties. Information included in the application helps the manager who monitors the living arrangement closely, to create a good match between the parties.
Please note this is a Life Sharing position which requires responsibility and accountability to Burnaby Association of Community Inclusion (B.A.C.I.). Life Sharing is a lifestyle change. It is much different than having a roommate who is fully capable of meeting their own needs. Careful considerations will be made through interviews and pre-contract meetings involving family, the person served, B.A.C.I. and yourself.
Ultimately Life Sharing is a fulfilling and rewarding experience whereby you are contributing to someone’s quality of life and well-being while welcoming them into your circle of friends and family.
Interested applicants can apply by sending a cover letter and resume. Please respond to this lifesharing@gobaci.com or fax to Attention Life Sharing Network 604-299-5921.
First-Aid, Criminal Record Check and References will be required should you be determined to be a life share match.
