Supply Chain Specialist

We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for strategic forecasting, contract negotiation, developing supply and purchasing policies and procedures, maintaining adequate inventory, improving efficiencies in the supply chain process to ensuring the availability of all necessary materials required to support we can meet production requirements and meet customer demands. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships internally and externally. You will communicate with internal stakeholders to establish inventory plans, identify issues, and develop solutions to help achieve the company objectives.
Education & Qualifications, Required:
Post-secondary degree in Operation Management, Business Management, or Supply Chain Management; an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field may substitute for education only.
Proof of ability to remain and work in Canada
Experience, Required:
5+ years of strategic supply chain experience
Experience in a manufacturing environment
In-depth knowledge of materials and inventory systems, turns, and material movement
Experience with an ERP system
Solid negotiation skills
Experience, Considered an asset but can be learned on the job:
CSCP certification, an asset
Lean Manufacturing experience, an asset
Proven experience in developing and implementing continuous improvement
Experience leading implementation of an ERP

This position is full-time at our Delta, BC manufacturing facility
1 day work from home an option

Travel may be required, but will be limited
The Role
Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for the procurement of goods critical to the company’s ability to meet its business objectives. Work with a multi-disciplinary team (R&D, Manufacturing, Architecture etc.) to develop supplier qualification methods and processes, and develop supply chain strategies to support long term product roadmap
Collaborate with Finance to create and manage quarterly and annual budget outlooks
Implement a framework for best practices in supply chain and inventory and risk management
Develops procurement control policies, practices, and processes
Supplier Qualification, tender process, RFI, RFP, RFQ with vendors
Supplier Performance management including supplier quality, cost, and delivery
Monitor the quality of purchased items and the efficiency of our supply chain practices
Responsible for inventory management and controls
Track and report progress against key supply chain metrics
Ensure data integrity is maintained within the ERP and other tools
Drives identification and implementation of cost reduction initiatives
Understand the business requirements including materials, equipment, processes, technical specifications, and value chain
Identify opportunities for vendor consolidation and to leverage the organization’s purchasing power
Analysis of market/supply conditions (e.g., availability, pricing, lead-times, and capacity)
Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services
Analyze, manage and participate in the existing procurement processes looking for opportunities to enhance our processes and procedures
Forecast supply needs for upcoming store rollout program, ensuring there is no risk to supply for each project
Ensure all supplier invoices are managed and paid on time
Manage the shipping expectations for all purchases with relevant Freight companies
Develop, document and maintain all procurement procedures and vendor agreements
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve bulk cost savings where possible
Manage inventory and set min-max quantities for regular consumables
Manage the facility’s storage capacity and set up systems for the best utilization of the available space
Implement material handling programs for both in-feed and out-feed from storage to the production space
Implement systems for material release to the production floor
Implement systems for finished product handover to clients
Coordinate and update the production team on the WIP and inventory status
Coordinate quarterly/annual material audits
