Position Summary
Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping / Receiving associate is responsible for the safe handling of all raw materials associated with Sofina Foods. To maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment. Responsible for updating and maintaining manual and computerized reports associated with shipping/receiving.
Key Accountabilities:
• Verifies quantities of all materials shipped and received
• Documents any discrepancies and notifies appropriate departments regarding shortages
• Responsible for data entry and maintaining reports on Excel, TMS and Visual systems.
• Provides physical counts of inventory as required.
• Monitor incoming materials and outgoing products as per HACCP and Food Safety and Quality Manual to ensure product safety and quality during receiving, storage and shipping.
• Check and stage the necessary materials based on product specifications and age of the product.
• This position requires physical effort 30% to 40% of the time and entails lifting and moving heavy equipment.
• The work environment is wet, damp and refrigerated (50 degrees F or less). Warm clothing is required.
• The noise level may exceed 90 decibels. Hearing protection is mandatory.
• Other related duties as assigned.
What you bring to the role:
• 1-2 years experience in a Shipping/Receiving department
• Shunting experience is an asset
• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Must possess and maintain a valid forklift license
• Ability to organize, plan and report
• Must be a Team player, able to work well in a team environment
• Good communication skills in English (verbal and written)
• Strong math and comprehension skills
