Housekeeping Aide

Oneida LTCH has an opening for a part-time casual Housekeeping Aide. As a member of the Environmental Services Team, the housekeeping aide maintains the Home in a clean, orderly condition to provide a safe, pleasant environment for the residents, visitors and staff of the home.
*Essential Responsibilities:*
* *Responsible for completing job duties with adherence to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Public Health Regulations and the Sanitation Code and polices & procedures of Oneida LTC Home is required.*
* *Ensure all rooms and contents within the home are cleaned on a regular basis according to job routines; (washrooms, tub rooms, resident rooms, offices, hallways, store rooms, utility rooms, furniture, drapes etc.).*
* *Responsible for the safe operation of all equipment including vacuums, floor polishers, scrubbers, floor machines and any other equipment used in the housekeeping department.*
* *Responsible for safe handling and storage of all chemicals within the Housekeeping Department.*
* *Responsibility for ensuring all store rooms and carts are stocked and secured properly in accordance with regulations.*
* *Collect all waste material containers and transport to a holding area in accordance with relevant regulations.*
* *Report all repairs to maintenance via the work order program.*
* *Report all needed inventory to the supervisor.*
* *Perform other related duties as assigned, which are in accordance with job responsibilities or necessary departmental objectives.*
* *Responsible for communicating any concerns expressed by residents, families and staff to the In-Charge RN.*
* *Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and hazard free manner. *
* *Follow established procedures to avoid the spread of infection, i.e. hand washing and use of protective clothing/equipment.*
*Qualifications:*
* *Knowledge of cleaning supplies and related housekeeping equipment preferred.*
* *Knowledge of Infection Prevention./.Control preferred.*
* *Able to work with chemicals, cleaners or detergents required.*
* *Able to prioritize, organize and follow job routine to ensure continuing productivity.*
* *Must be pleasant, respectful and patient with residents, families, visitors and fellow staff members.*
* *Strong customer service skills.*
* *Able to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions.*
* *Reliable and able to attend work on a call-in basis with short notice.*
* *Able to work in a team or independently.*
*Rate Of Pay: as per the collective agreement*
*Hours of Work: There are no guaranteed hours for this position. You must be able to accept short notice call-ins for weekday and weekend shifts*
*Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM*
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
