Newly Licensed AZ Line Haul Drivers
GFL Environmental is looking for newly licensed AZ Line Haul Drivers to participate in our Driver Development Training Program and support our solid waste line of business.
Driver Development Training Program:
One on one training with a skilled driver coach
Nine-weeks of paid, industry specific training
Training focuses on backing skills, local/city/highway driving, safe loading and delivering techniques
Company driver position following successful completion of training
Key Responsibilities:
Daily runs to Michigan
Transport solid waste from the transfer stations to various landfills
Inspect vehicles daily for mechanical items and safety issues to ensure safe operation and public safety
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, equipment damage and property damage when applicable
Document and log driving/break periods in Kilometers on Daily Trip Report and E-logs in accordance with DOT & MTO Regulations
Retain copies of fuel, and border toll receipts, as well as pick-up and delivery tickets to complete daily paperwork
Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation of vehicles, carriage of goods, Hours of Service, occupational health and safety, customs and immigration, weights and dimensions
Approximately 600Km-1100km a day, 10-14 hour runs
Home nightly
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Valid AZ License
Must be able to cross US border in a CMV daily
Great attitude and work ethic
Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
High level of personal integrity
Eagerness to learn and develop skills
Dedicated and strong work ethic
Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
