Inventory Planner- Bilingual

The Opportunity

The Inventory Planner will be responsible for Product Inventory levels sufficient to promote sales efforts & customer requirements; according to the corporate inventory guidelines, policies, procedures & inventory savings strategies. Responsibilities also include developing expertise and generating supporting materials such as parts stocking lists for specific product categories.

The Role

  • Optimize inventory stocking levels (inventory turns, obsolete inventory) to meet customer service objectives (in stocks).
  • Accountable for creating and maintaining inventory plans that balance the needs of customer service and investment dollars.
  • Collaboration with Branch Leadership to ensure customer/market requirements are properly reflected and supported in inventory investments.
  • Monitor inventory performance identifying non productive inventory (surplus or obsolescence) and arranging redeployment and/or disposition.
  • Develop parts stocking lists and build stocking recommendations for various product categories to support growth.
  • Monitor performance of consignment, dedicated and contract inventory and recommend adjustments to customers and sales teams.
  • Support and prepare daily cycle counts and the annual physical inventory process.
  • Review and analyze vendor rationalization, cost savings & product duplications.
  • Handle and respond to inquiries from Operations, sales, suppliers and branches. Extracting data and analyzing information to assist in decision making.

The Candidate

  • Bilingual: English/French
  • Education:  University degree in Business, Engineering or Operations Management/Logistics
  • Work Experience:  Minimum 3 years years experience in Supply Chain or Operations procurement environments required.
  • Knowledge: Bilingual (English and French).  Strong working knowledge of inventory control practices & processes and Integrated Supply Chain concepts.  Lean and Continuous improvement experience is an asset. General knowledge of industrial goods and equipment.
  • Proficiency: Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint.   Microsoft Access.  Well developed analytic and interpretive skills required. 
  • This position requires serving clients and other stakeholders from outside Quebec.
