The Loblaw Supply Chain team is the heart of our business and is committed to making customers our number one priority. With the aid of world class systems, we ensure our product – nearly 1billion units of it – makes its way from one of our 3,000 vendors, through one of our 27 distribution centers, to one of our 2,300 locations across Canada, and into the homes of millions of Canadians each year.

The Supply Chain Analyst will report directly to the Senior Manager of the Supply Chain Data, Analytics, & Reporting team, focusing on the creation of diverse stable data solutions to drive business making decisions across the Supply Chain. The analyst is responsible in crafting enriched visual insights and powerful tools to improve processes and efficiencies across Supply Chain.

To be successful in this role, the analyst will need to apply their diverse abilities which will include data mining, ETL management/scripting, data cube creation/management, and finally front-end BI and application development. Additionally, a successful candidiate must have the ability to learn quickly and interpret business processes, while working cohesively with partners and Loblaw Technology support teams, to complete project deliverables on time in an agile workspace.

The analyst will need to conduct in-depth descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis. After analysis completion they should be able to present their findings clearly and concisely to varying audiences across Supply Chain.

Finally, the analyst will be encouraged to continue learning and applying new technologies and methodologies in their role as the industry continues to change and the business modernizes its processes.

Key Accountabilities:
Build, maintain data, and apply technical solutions to meet supply chain operational needs
Implement agile methodologies to request, design, build, document, and automate datasets from both structured and unstructured sources vital to support the Supply Chain Data, Analytics, & Reporting
Build visual insights and applications across multiple platforms
Conduct analysis and present findings/recommendations to partners
Create dashboards and alerts to supervise data normality, processes, and KPI’s
Validate and test data cubes and solutions
Share knowledge and skills with others on applications, data design principles, and validation techniques
Research new techniques and train team members on standard processes in data mining and construction, automation, and application/BI development
Implement tools and techniques to quickly supervise data processes to maintain data integrity
Support Supply Chain systems changes and upgrades by defining data requirements then design, create, implement, and maintain data solutions
Demonstrate technical expertise to internal and external teams for all supply chain applications and processes as it relates to data
Liaise with Loblaw Technology and various groups to access data, then ensuring stability and accessibility to the Supply Chain Data, Analytics, & Reporting and its partners
Research and review technologies and products to simplify tasks, remove duplications, while improving stability and performance
Qualifications:
3-5 years of related work experience
University or College degree in technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
Database and programming experience should include SAS, Teradata, Visual Basic, Oracle, Hana, Unix Scripting, Hadoop, SQL, My SQL, Power BI, HTML/Java, Python MicroStrategy, Power Apps, Big Query, MS Data Factory, Data Studio
Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products
Logistics experience preferred
Demonstrable experience in Project Management and resource planning, demonstrating effective and timely completion of projects
Certification in 6 Sigma, Lean, Supply Chain Logistics or other related technical skills highly sought
Ability to identify new business and data opportunities
Demonstrable ability to convert abstract or undefined tasks and problems into concrete solutions
Ability to work both independently and in a team dynamic both in office and remotely
Ability to learn new concepts, technologies, and methodologies in a fast-paced and ever-changing industry
