*Job Description*

We are looking to hire certified *Personal Support Workers,* preferablywith experience working with clients of different disabilities, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MS, and Diabetes. Since the hours of work can include a variety of hours such as days, nights, evenings, and weekends—being a team-player is vital in this environment. The ability to reliably commute, or relocate to Ottawa, Ontario before starting work is also required.

_*What We Expect from You: Essential Job Functions*_

· Providing one-to-one care assistance to each client individually, or in a team setting with another caregiver

· Assist with two-person transfers using mechanical lifts, or one-person assists

· Provide medication reminders

· Support clients in completing all Activities of Daily Living, such as toileting, bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance

· Assist in palliative support as needed

· Maintain communication regarding all client care needs and changes, plus deliver the appropriate reports

· Help with the Instrumental Activities of Daily Living—such as laundry, changing linens, warming up meals, etc., as required.

_*What You Bring to *_*Home Instead*®_*: Experience and Certifications*_

· One (or more) year’s Supportive Care experience is preferred

· Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), or International Nurse

· Involvement working with Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's, MS, and Diabetes patients are considered assets

· Practice with two-person transfers is also an asset; training will be provided as needed

· Experience changing bed-bound clients and other forms of personal care

· Willingness to adapt to flexible scheduling as necessary.
