Job Profile: Specialist, Quality Assurance – Non-Food & Food (LBL)
Reports to: Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance – Non-Food
Role Mandate:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible to ensure that Control Brand Products and factories are in conformance with respective safety and quality standards. The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with the broader QA team, including the Importer of Record team, business stakeholders and vendors to drive compliance and consistent customer experience. The role has significant potential for personal growth for a motivated and enthusiastic product safety and quality professional, in both food and non-food product categories.
Accountabilities:
Perform risk assessment evaluation for potential Control Brand factories
Remain current with product safety and quality trends, issues and initiatives within the food and non-food industries
Develop quality plans and coordinate QA Audit report reviews and Customer complaint investigations
Drive continuous improvement product quality initiatives with vendors
Assist in managing customer complaints, including identifying trends and driving resolution and year over year improvement
Collaborate with suppliers/manufacturers, as needed, on quality related issues to ensure corrective and preventative actions
Proactively seek resolution to issues according to Management Information reports and resolve issues within appropriate timelines and ensure vendor accountability
Assist Senior Quality Assurance specialists with special projects relating to data analysis, quality assurance duties and other initiatives
Liaise with internal and external business partners to ensure all aspects of the needs are addressed
Support the Importer of Record initiatives, including the certificate management process
Role Requirements:
University education or equivalent in Food Science, Engineering, Pharmacy or equivalent subject area
Minimum 3 years previous work experience required; retail, management consulting, or consumer goods experience strongly preferred
Able to work successfully as an individual requiring minimal direction and as a team member
Able to influence and interact effectively with all levels at retail/distribution, vendor and office locations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Effective problem-solving skills
Straightforward practical way of thinking and problem solving
Results oriented
Highly organized with a strong focus on detail and accuracy
Excellent excel and data analysis skills
