We are hiring a Bilingual Funding Specialist!
Reporting To: Senior Manager, Commercial Funding and Renewals
Full-Time/Part- Time: Full-time
Posting Date: January 31, 2023
Closing Date: February 13, 2023
Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Grade: 6
Office Location: Downtown Toronto/Hybrid Great location! Steps away from the main public transit station

The Opportunity:
The Bilingual Funding Specialist is responsible for assisting with instructing, advancing and closing mortgage files in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Bilingual Funding Specialist handles each file from the time the loan is committed to the time the file closes.
• Instruct Solicitor and external property insurance consultant
• Review file to identify any special conditions as per the commitment letter and if applicable, per CMHC’s special conditions
• Ensure that all supporting documents and pre-funding conditions have been received and satisfied prior to advancing funds
• Co-ordinate closing process with applicable investor, ensures that all investor requirements have been met and obtains investor approval
• Follow up with the applicable underwriter for any outstanding conditions
• Set up all loan details onto mortgage system from various sources, including commitment letter, CMHC special conditions, underwriting binder, legal documents etc., set up of loan file in paperless system
• Calculate interest adjustments, repair holdbacks, tax holdbacks and monthly tax components
• Post all advances onto mortgage system, ensures all advances balance and the reconciliation of any discrepancies
• Complete final review of assigned files post funding to ensure file is ready to be transferred to servicing, prepare client welcome letter and tax office notification letter
• Advance construction/progress draws on a regular basis
• Complete special projects as assigned by Senior Manager, Commercial Mortgage Funding
The Requirements Needed:
• Post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Quebec commercial mortgage legal documentation is a definite asset
• 2 years of experience in the mortgage industry, commercial mortgage funding experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications
• Proven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, verbal & written, with experience in providing excellent customer service
• Team player with ability to perform extra duties as assigned
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Bilingualism (French, English) required- interactions with English-speaking customers or partners
