MediSystem Pharmacy, a Shoppers Drug Mart Company, is an established specialty pharmacy that provides pharmaceutical dispensing and clinical pharmacy consulting services to long term care facilities across Canada. Key Responsibilities:
Complete all tasks according to policies and standard operating procedures
Fill variety of prescriptions including blister packs and non-sterile compounds
Package medications in strips using PACMED machine
Prepare blister packs for unit dose and multidose
Maintain and monitor adequate inventory level
Scan each prescription accurately, package as per the guidelines, deliver them timely.
Synchronize and collaborates with other team members to ensure medications are dispensed as prescribed and follow up on outstanding issues
Perform other pharmacy duties as assigned in a priority sequence
Job Requirements:
Excellent communication and time management skills
Must prioritize work assignments based on urgency
Must be able to adapt the change in job environment
Work with minimal supervision and independently
Demonstrate problem solving skills and critical thinking skills
Able to take initiative with positive attitude and accountability
Recognize liability on the outcomes of service provided
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
Ability to work and maneuver quickly and consistently for extended periods of time
Must follow all corporate regulations, policies and procedures
Preferred:
Exposure to Pharmacy environment (Retail, Hospital or Long-Term Care)
Pharmacy Technician Diploma from accredited college, but not required
This role requires employees to be flexible to work a variety of shifts during the business’ hours of operations, which include occasional weekend shifts and statutory holidays.
