Bilingual Recruiter
The CGC Bilingual Recruiter is accountable for sourcing hourly and salary candidates for corporate departments and manufacturing plant locations across Canada. Working closely with local management and regional human resources business partners, the recruiter develops a sourcing strategy and implements the selection process from start to finish. This position will report to the head of USG talent acquisition in Chicago and be physically located in Canada (Ontario and Quebec preferred). This position will also lead all campus recruiting for universities and colleges across Canada.
Talent Acquisition
Role & Responsibilities: (14-16 month contract position)
• Create and own sourcing strategy by working with regional HR business partner, local resources, and talent management; make recommendations to revise strategy when needed
• Update and maintain all job descriptions and essential physical requirements
• Complete required provincial/federal posting of opening
• Using resources identified in the sourcing strategy, source all candidates through advertisements, employee referrals, networking, social media
• Complete initial screen and skills assessment testing for all candidates and make recommendations to local resource for on-site interviews
• Schedule interviews and follow-up with interviewers
• Prepare and send offer and declination letters/email to applicants; work with recruiting coordinator to send request to third party for background investigation and physical/drug screen
• Promote CGC & USG as a Great Place to Work
• Stay up to date on latest recruiting tools, resources, and techniques Plant Engagement
• Working closely with the Lead Recruiter/ HRBP CGC Inc, participate in division/plant staff meetings as needed to report on recruiting results and trends
• Build applicant pipeline by researching and contacting community services, schools, colleges, employment agencies, media, and internet sites Resources / Tools / Metrics
• Use data to predict future openings and take proactive action in sourcing talent
• Make recommendations on continuous improvement for the recruiting process and sourcing strategies Training
• Train new or newly promoted hiring managers on effective talent acquisition practices Diversity & Inclusion
• Stay current on the company’s diversity and inclusion objectives, and ensure that selection decisions are aligned with our core value of diversity
Qualifications & Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Functional certification/coursework preferred (Lean Recruiting, Recruiter Certification, etc.).
2. Experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting leading sourcing activities. Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements for employee selection. Experience using multiple recruiting sources to locate candidates.
3. Able to clearly articulate CGC/USG's employee value proposition, mission, and values in a way to attract and hire high quality candidates. Proficient in cultivating and building relationships. Able to assess and judge talent. Strong sales skills and customer-service focus.
4. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization. Strong organizational skills, including time management. Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities. Ability to work independently and with a team. Experience driving process improvement.
5. Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
6. Fluently bilingual (French and English)
7. Experience with Taleo ATS would be an asset
8. Experienced at sourcing passive candidates, able to conduct database searches and use social media effectively.
