Boom Truck Operator - Positions Across Canada
REMCAN Projects LP. (REMCAN) is a full service contractor for the railway industry and we are currently hiring for qualified Boomtruck operators!
PLEASE NOTE: This job will require travel throughout multiple cities in your province with the possibility of other cities in your part of the country. For example, if you are located in ON, you will be working throughout ON and possibly Eastern Canada. If you are located in BC, you will be working in BC and parts of Western Canada.
In this role, candidates will be expected to be able to:
· demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of Boom truck operations and crane handling
· Handle railcars and complying with handling procedures.
· Conduct mechanical & safety inspections as required and perform necessary maintenance and repairs
· Be responsible for various administrative tasks in regards to production reports, timekeeping, etc
· Perform general labour with crew as required
· Be responsible to ensure compliance to all Remcan and customer safety policies and procedures

This role is a Safety Sensitive position and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be required. Candidates considered for employment MUST pass all required pre-employment testing and agree to be monitored as prescribed by government rules and regulations governing fitness for duty. As an employee involved in rail operations, impairment in the workplace could result in a significant incident involving the health, wellness, and safety of yourself, your colleagues, and members of the general public.
REQUIREMENTS
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid A/3 Class license (depending on the province)
At least 2 years experience operating Boom trucks
Able to produce a driver’s abstract and insurance claims records
At least 3 years of railway experience
Able to pass all required railway operating rules examinations
Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug screening
Able to secure e-RailSafe Canada certification
First Aid and WHIMIS are assets
Able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised as well as in teams
Able to work all types of shifts as required
Able to work in various weather conditions all year round (hot & cold)
Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as required
Working knowledge of basic computer skills
Maintain REMCAN safety guidelines & policies at all times
