The First Narayever Congregation, a dynamic, inclusive, and egalitarian synagogue in downtown Toronto, is seeking a Youth & Family Engagement Director to bring creativity, leadership, and spirit to our growing community. This is a full-time role focused on developing and delivering inspiring, meaningful programming for children, teens, and families — helping the next generation find their connection to Jewish life.

This is a full-time role focused on developing and delivering inspiring, meaningful programming for children, teens, and families — helping the next generation find their connection to Jewish life.
About You
You are a passionate Jewish educator and/or leader with:
- Davening and synagogue skills, capacity to lead family and children’s services
- Demonstrated experience working with children, pre-teens, and/or young adults
- A strong foundation in Jewish learning, ritual, and tradition
- Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with young people (and their families) in a relevant and accessible way
- Experience managing stakeholders, building partnerships, and working with volunteers
- A collaborative, proactive mindset and vision to grow and enrich youth and family programs and activities
- Develop creative and engaging programs for families, teens, and young adults
Enrich Shabbat and Yom Tov family programming with joyful, interactive content - Organize and mentor teen leaders to deliver children’s programming
- Serve as the main point of contact for families, managing communication via quarterly newsletters, weekly communications, and direct outreach
- Co-lead our Bnei Mitzvah class, guiding students and families through a meaningful Jewish journey
- Act as the ShinShinim Site Supervisor, integrating their work into broader programming
- Coordinate and co-lead family services for High Holidays
- Organize occasional family Kabbalat Shabbats.
- Support the Youth Committee and Celebrations Team in planning and delivering youth/family events
Cultivate volunteers and build partnerships with other downtown Jewish organizations to expand offerings and reach
