We are looking for a motivated Volunteer Outreach Worker to join our Burnaby and Vancouver Language Centre teams!

 

POSITION: Volunteer Outreach Worker 

 

DEPARTMENT: Employment, Language, and Social Enterprise
 

POSITION FUNCTION:

  • Works collaboratively with Instructional Developers and Instructors to identify the need for volunteers in the LINC program.
  • Works in conjunction with the Coordinator of Volunteer Resources to recruit volunteers.
  • Orients, trains, supervises and supports volunteers.
  • Implements and continuously improves the monitoring, evaluation and retention of volunteers within the LINC program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in relevant field.
  • Experience working in program coordination, and volunteer or staff supervision.
  • Experience in volunteer management, including screening, placing, orientation, training and volunteer recognition.
  • Experience working with immigrants and refugees from different ethno-cultural minority communities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom and Better Impact.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required 

 

HOURS:

Part time – 20 hours per week supporting Burnaby (10 hours) and Vancouver (10 hours) Language Centre's.

This is an ongoing position starting April 2, 2024.

 

The successful candidate must be able to commute to both the Burnaby and Vancouver Language Centre's. 

 

BENEFITS: A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
