Hourly Rate: Starting at $32.74

Program Overview
The Women’s Mobile Primary Care (WMPC) program provides culturally safe, accessible, and responsive healthcare services to women in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside—particularly those experiencing homelessness, health challenges, or substance use. The program operates via a mobile health unit, meeting women where they are and working to remove the geographic, systemic, and cultural barriers to care.
Position Summary
The Van Driver plays a vital role in supporting the WMPC team by ensuring the safe transport of staff and supplies to outreach locations. The driver maintains the mobile clinic van, manages supply logistics, and contributes to a respectful and professional atmosphere while upholding safety and maintenance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Logistics

Safely operate the mobile clinic van to scheduled outreach sites.

Maintain program timing by arriving and departing on schedule.

Ensure the van is stocked with needed supplies and in safe operating condition.

Support occasional supply runs.
Client & Staff Support
-
Assist with boarding and disembarking as needed.

Promote a respectful and professional environment for all.
Vehicle Maintenance

Conduct daily cleanliness and mechanical checks.

Report maintenance issues and coordinate servicing as required.
Compliance & Reporting
-
Follow all driving and program safety regulations.

Track mileage, fuel, incidents, and other required vehicle records.
Collaboration & Communication

Liaise with the Program Manager and team on logistics and scheduling.

Participate in team meetings and debriefs as needed.
Additional Duties
-
Help with supply loading/unloading and other logistical support.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
Qualifications
-
Must self-identify as a woman (inclusive of trans women and Two-Spirit femmes).

Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Experience operating larger vehicles in an urban setting preferred.

Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance is an asset.

Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

Able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Experience working with marginalized communities is an asset.

Comfortable lifting and carrying supplies as needed.
Working Conditions

Scheduled hours: Tuesday–Thursday, 16 hours/week.

Travel primarily within the Downtown Eastside, with some local travel.

Must be flexible and responsive to program scheduling needs.
