Regular Full-Time Position

The George Hull Centre is a leading Children’s Mental Health Centre providing a full continuum of services to children birth to 18 and their families in Etobicoke. Our Centre is currently looking for a Training Manager to fill a unique role to grow and further develop the training pillar of the Institute of Childhood Trauma and Attachment. The successful candidate will be joining a growing team dedicated to enhancing trauma-informed knowledge and practice across child and youth sectors through training and consultation.

As part of the Institute management team, the Training Manager would be responsible for the overall management of the Institute training pillar, including all training initiatives. The successful candidate will also develop and maintain key client relationships, design and develop a curriculum to meet client needs, manage and oversee a training calendar, retain and manage a team of staff and fee-for-service trainers, and promote and grow our training programs.

The training manager will carry a very small caseload of clients and be an active member of the Community Clinic team, supporting the elevation of practice regarding trauma and attachment disruption.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • This position requires a Master’s degree in Social Work (or equivalent) from a university of recognized standing.
  • Certification with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or membership in the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years post-graduate supervised experience in children’s mental health leading to demonstrated ability in clinical assessment and treatment of trauma and attachment difficulties.  Training and experience in some of the following models are considered an asset such as TF-CBT, DDP, EMDR, SMART, DBT.
  • Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and providing clinical supervision are required.
  • Previous management experience is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in proposal writing, sales or developing business opportunities is very beneficial.
  • Excellent clinical leadership skills gained through many years of progressively responsible practice and management experience in social services. 
  • A high degree of organizational and time management skills is required.  Project management experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to communicate well, orally and in writing, and to work effectively with clients, staff, other managers, and members of the community, including the professional community. 
  • Ability to develop cohesive and well-functioning staff teams. 
  • Working within a unionized environment is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience working from an anti-oppressive and anti-Black racism framework with youth and families from diverse ethnocultural and socio-economic backgrounds, including youth with diverse educational backgrounds and abilities and racialized communities. Commitment to ending anti-Black racism and to ongoing learning and practice in anti-oppression. 
  • Excellent knowledge of statutes and regulations pertinent to children’s mental health services, particularly the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.

HOURS:    36.25 hours per week including flexible hours
