Tech & Application Support Analyst (1 Year Full time, Contract - Parental leave coverage)

Location: Our office is located in Toronto, Ontario; however, flexible / hybrid / and remote work arrangements are available. 

Reports to: Director of Operations

Hiring Range: $55,000-$65,000 annually, including a comprehensive benefits plan, pension plan, 3 weeks paid vacation, a December break (usually a week) to recharge, wellness days, access to an Employee Assistance Program and professional development opportunities

About the position:

As a member of CFCC’s Information Technology team, the Technology & Application Support Analyst plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the organization. Through support, training, and troubleshooting (hardware and applications), they ensure CFCC staff have access to the technology and tools needed to meet their individual goals and the goals of the organization. They are responsible for ensuring CFCC’s network infrastructure and cloud environments function securely and efficiently. As a key member of the IT Team, they will collaborate with other cross functional team members and end-users. They will also take the lead on identifying, recommending and implementing improvements to existing applications or proposing new applications that could enhance CFCC’s operations. They also play an integral role in managing larger IT projects that support the organizational goals of digital transformation and systems integration.

Responsibilities

Systems
  • Manage organization-wide systems and platforms - Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra, Zoom, Clickup - and liaise with CFCC external IT support and other vendors.
Implementation and Configuration
  • Deploy and configure Google Workspace and related applications, ensuring seamless integration with our organization's infrastructure.
  • Deploy and configure users in Microsoft Entra
User Management
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within the Google Workspace environment.
  • Provide user support, including onboarding and training, to ensure effective utilization of Google Workspace tools.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within the Microsoft Entra environment.
  • Add new users to Clickup and provide onboarding and support
  • Manage corporate Zoom accounts
Security and Compliance
  • Implement and maintain security policies, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ensure all security software is up to date and working optimally
  • Conduct regular security audits and address vulnerabilities in the Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra environments.
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices and Entra and Google Workspace updates to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • In collaboration with the IT team, facilitate ongoing cybersecurity training across the organization to raise awareness and manage risk
Troubleshooting and Support
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to Google Workspace applications.
  • Provide timely and effective support to end-users, addressing their queries and concerns.
Collaboration and Integration
  • Work with other IT team members to integrate Google Workspace with existing systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand operational needs and optimize Google Workspace configurations accordingly.
  • Work with team leaders and others during employee offboarding to ensure user data is secured and available as needed
Monitoring and Optimization
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, implementing optimizations as needed.
  • Stay abreast of Google Workspace and Entra updates and features, evaluating their potential impact on our organization and implementing changes accordingly.
Hardware & Technology
  • Manage the procurement, purchasing and decommissioning of all computer hardware - laptops, peripherals, etc.
  • Configure all hardware to align with organization infrastructure
  • Work directly with end-users to onboard, and provide ongoing support with technology 
  • Liaise with HR on offboarding procedures, ensuring the integrity and security of CFCC equipment
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all CFCC IT equipment
Network Infrastructure
  • Manage network, infrastructure and cloud technologies ensuring internet stability, regular data backup, appropriate security and firewalls, latest firmware upgrades, and hardware optimization.
  • Collaborate on projects (i.e. applications, tools) and work with all stakeholders (mainly internal) to identify requirements, research options and implementation. 
  • Ensure appropriate licences, settings and permissions on  organization-wide systems, e.g. Google Workspace, Zoom, Entra, remote access tools and other technologies.
  • Help desk support for hardware (computers, photocopier, etc.), software, networking and telephone.
Processes and policies
  • Participate in the development and implementation of IS/IT policies 
  • Document user processes and related training for organizational tools and applications.
  • Maintain system security, and ensure user policies correspond to organization structure on desktop and cloud systems.
  • Align with CFCC values and contribute to the evolution of our culture, and a work environment that is grounded in collaboration, equity, respect, innovation and transparent communication.
Qualifications
Required:
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science/Network Engineering, Information Technology or related field
  • Experience managing Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra and similar tools e.g. MS Office, file storage systems
  • Good understanding of online security and cybersecurity implementation
  • Experience planning infrastructure and designing technical solutions 
  • Experience managing multiple projects across stakeholders with demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into plain language
  • Proven track record supporting staff to successfully adopt and use new technologies.
  • Experience working with charitable, privacy and other legislative requirements.
  • Understanding of and desire to contribute to the mission of Community Food Centres Canada

  • Excellent relationship building skills, experience working with multiple stakeholders and technical contractors is an asset
