FULL TIME RESIDENTIAL SUPERVISOR (Navan/Sarsfield)
This is a maternity leave contract. The supervisor will then move to a new location(s) once contract ends.

Candidates MUST have specific experience in the developmental services sector. 

$31.55 per hour

The Residential Supervisor will coordinate staff and oversee the daily operations of residential locations. The Residential Supervisor will make sure that person-cantered supports are provided to all individuals. They will provide supports to individuals with a developmental disability, physical disability, challenging behaviours and/or dual diagnosis. They will work closely with the residential support team and individuals to lead, observe, plan, and implement programs and activities that promote learning and development in daily living, social and life skills. The Residential Supervisor ensures the safe and smooth operations of residential locations.

On-Call component on a rotating basis as required. The supervisor must be willing to work frontline shifts when needed.

A vehicle and valid driver's licence is a requirement for this position.

Our main office is located in Orleans on Lanthier Drive. The supervisor will oversee two homes in Navan & Sarsfield. The homes are approximately an 8 - 10-minute drive from each other.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand and promote the rights and responsibilities of individuals.
  • Ensure high-quality supports and services are provided to individuals.
  • Ensure location(s) is adequately staffed. Responsible for working frontline shifts as required.
  • Communicate with management when staffing challenges arise.
  • Ensure staff are aware of their schedule and any changes that may occur. Must ensure schedules are posted in advance.
  • Work independently or within a team to prioritize and complete shift requirements while still meeting the individual’s needs.
  • Monitor and ensure staff are completing duties and responsibilities. Follow through as required.
  • Ensure that individualized person-centered activities occur. Ensure the team works towards goals with each individual.
  • Develop and maintain respectful and positive cooperative working relationships to contribute to the integrated, seamless delivery of services from ICSS, including individuals, staff, families, etc.
  • Lead and assist in the orientation and training of new staff members. Lead and assist in the ongoing training of staff.
  • Complete staff performance reviews.
  • Complete administrative work.
  • Provide feedback and give directives to the staff positively and constructively.
  • Ensure required meetings are conducted, such as but not limited to staff meetings, Individual Support Plan meetings, etc.
  • Oversee and verify all financial transactions pertaining to the location and report discrepancies accordingly.
  • Ensure medication is accurate for each individual and order medication as required.
  • Monitor staff working relationships, provide necessary support and follow conflict resolution techniques as required. Bring forward concerns to management when further support is needed.
  • Ensure all incidents are reported to the Manager of Residential Support.
  • Conduct follow-up meetings with staff for all incident reports. Forward to management for final review.
  • Review and organize all future due dates, such as medical appointments, Positive Behaviour Support Plan review dates, etc.
  • Ensure management is informed of all pertinent information concerning the individual’s overall well-being, such as health concerns, changes in behaviour, appointments, etc.
  • Inform the team of any pertinent information regarding appointments, programs, activities, etc. Attend all appointments/meetings as required.
  • Communicate with management any concerns brought forward by external parties.
  • Follow all ICSS guidelines, Policies and Procedures.
  • Follow Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and ensure due diligence in addressing potential risks related to Health and Safety. Ensure staff are adhering to proper health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure communication is respectful, objective, and unbiased.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required
  • Experience in a supervisory role in this field, DSW, PSW, or relevant education and experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of developmental disabilities, challenging behaviours, mental health, dual diagnosis and/or complex medical needs. For this position, it is mostly supporting individuals in a total care environment; assistance required in every aspect of daily living.
  • Strong computer knowledge, i.e., Microsoft applications.
  • Experience with individualized plans.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support new and unacquainted individuals with minimal information.
  • Interpersonal skills for problem solving and relationship building with internal and external parties.
  • Strong observational skills.
  • Ability to develop and build strong teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete work tasks thoroughly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Conditions of Employment
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence.
  • Possess a driver’s abstract with less than four minor convictions, and no serious convictions.
  • Possess valid vehicle insurance.
  • Must provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Must provide a valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
  • Must provide a letter of good health and documentation indicating all up to date applicable immunizations.
