Standards Accreditation Associate - Ontario Camps Association
Summary
Reporting to the Membership Manager, the Standards Accreditation Associate is responsible for administering our Standards Accreditation Program, handling the day-to-day operations of the Standards, and supporting various program committees; specifically liaising with the Standards Accreditation and Standards Review committees. As the Standards liaison to our community, this role requires a high degree of customer service abilities as well as cooperation and collaboration with others. The successful candidate will possess strong project management experience, be a creative problem solver, and be an excellent relationship builder. The work is exciting, challenging, and rewarding, offering the opportunity to have influence in the field of camp in Ontario.

- Experience in camp management.

- High degree of organization, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge in identifying opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions.
- A commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the business of camp.
- Support, interpret, and apply standards in a variety of settings and explain them in accessible language to members, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Recruit, support, and manage volunteers in accordance with OCA’s mission, vision, and values.
- Consult with Standards Accreditation and Standards Review Committee Chairs to complete key steps and communications for the Accreditation Program, including maintaining the volunteer components and administrative requirements of the program; assigning visitors; support with the answer sheets; identifying and addressing any issues pertinent to Standards Visits; and support with annual revisions to the OCA standards.
- Guide members and other stakeholders through the Accreditation process.
- Assist in the interpretation of the Accreditation Program's purpose, background, function, and process.
- Create training material for camp operations and team members.
- Support with the communications outlining the Standards Accreditation process.
- Manage OCA’s Database including tracking standards visit outcomes, standards visitor information, and preparation of annual reports.
- Updating annual Standards Books with accurate data reflecting any changes or updates approved by the community.
- Including management of community orders and maintaining mailing lists.
- Working closely with outside agencies for printing and manufacturing of books.
- Responsible for approximately 2-4 camp visits each summer.
- Provide support with various committees, which may include minutes, tracking deliverables, preparing agendas, etc.
- Attend and assist at OCA events as required (some evenings and weekends required).
- Assist in special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2-5 years of combined experience in a Camp or Outdoor Education, and/or post-secondary education in a related field.
- Analytical thinking and an ability to solve problems.
- Proven experience in project management.
- Experience working with and supporting volunteers.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills
- Experience in database administration; tech-savvy with considerable experience with technology tools for communication and productivity.
- Valid Drivers License (access to a reliable vehicle is required).
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Paid vacation and sick days, half-day Fridays in the summer.
- A flexible hybrid office model – there is a requirement to work from the Toronto office 2-3 days/week.

- This is a full-time position with a salary ranging between $45,500 to $55,000 annually, plus benefits. (commensurate with skills and experience).
