Indspire is seeking a Senior Development Officer, Leadership Giving to play a leadership role in the expansion of support from individuals and family foundations across Canada within the mid-level portfolio ($1,000-$24,999). They will utilize experience in proposal writing, donor communication, prospecting, face-to-face solicitation, event planning and excellent donor stewardship to secure revenue to support Indspire’s programs. They will collaborate with other Senior Development Officers to provide direction, planning and support for integrated leadership, legacy and major gift fundraising activities.

They will collaborate with other Senior Development Officers to provide direction, planning and support for integrated leadership, legacy and major gift fundraising activities.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising (75%)
- Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Major Gifts to develop and execute leadership giving fundraising campaigns, programs and initiatives aimed at engaging individuals and family foundations with lndspire
- Maintaining a portfolio of 750 leadership donors giving between $1,000-$24,999 annually
- Managing and growing Indspire’s Brighter Futures Circle annual giving program,
- Collaborates with other departments to develop creative funding opportunities and producing proposals for presentation to donors and prospects
- Working with the Director, Philanthropy to identify Indspire donors to upgrade to leadership giving
- Cultivating leadership donors into the Major Gift and Legacy portfolios
- Performing prospect research to identify and qualify potential leadership ($1,000 to $24,999) donors and family foundations as well as cultivating and soliciting prospects in keeping with lndspire's priorities and fundraising strategies
- Working closely with development colleagues to ideate fundraising and stewardship strategies, and ensuring their successful execution to maximize revenues
- Achieving annual leadership fundraising goals
- Creating donor communications materials including customized funding proposals, gift agreements, case for support documents, briefing notes, stewardship reports, presentations and other fund-raising materials as required
- Producing reports, analyzing results, recommending changes as required to maximize leadership revenue
- Assisting the Director, Major Gifts with fundraising projects and programs as required
- Participating in activities to develop and share new ideas that will result in better work practices and collective, team-based success to achieve increased fundraising results.
- Working with the Director, Major Gifts in the planning and implementation of leadership strategies, processes, procedures and policies
- Managing the donor stewardship cycle by ensuring gifts are acknowledged in a timely and personal manner. Arranging prospect and donor visits, events and tours
- Recording all sponsor or donor contacts in the fundraising database and maintaining accurate electronic and hard copy files on all donors
- Working with the Director, Major Gifts to research and help plan the Department's annual budgets, goals and campaign plans and annual work plans
- Providing support at fundraising events and for fundraising projects as required with the aim of enhancing the leadership giving program
- Attending functions as appropriate to promote lndspire and its programs to donors and prospects
- Other duties as assigned.
- Completion of a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
- Progressive experience with a minimum of five years' experience of demonstrated success in the not-for-profit sector in leadership fundraising from individuals and family foundations.
- Knowledge of and experience in Indigenous communities is an asset.
- Demonstrated openness to learning and willingness to engage in cultural competency training.
- A solid understanding of the fund development and moves management process.
- CFRE an asset.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills and the ability to cultivate relationships with and communicate effectively with all donors, volunteers and other stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects, deadlines and priorities.
- Team player that displays initiative.
- Highly computer literate and the ability to work effectively with database.
- Ability to work with sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
- Ability to work in French is an asset.
- Occasional travel between Six Nations and Toronto offices is required.
- Must be able to work occasional evening and weekends and possess a willingness to travel within Canada.
